Chloé N'Gazi, the Algeria goalkeeper, announced on Saturday that she is leaving OM.

In a social media post, the player said her spell had been a life lesson, that she learnt self-control and patience, that nothing is given or guaranteed and you must fight for what you want and deserve. Her message also recounted starting as first choice then being left out, with some decisions, in her view, beyond explanation, the sidelines never far, and a greater awareness of the invisible, damaging mechanisms in football.

The 29-year-old joined OM in 2024 and made four appearances this season.

She thanked her team-mates, the medical staff, kit staff, security personnel and cleaners. She did not refer to the club hierarchy or to head coach Corinne Diacre and her technical staff.

Her message closed by noting that one book ends and her story continues, with thanks to God.
