Ligue 2 side Stade de Reims announced on Friday that 18-year-old goalkeeper Chouaib Bellaarouch has signed his first professional contract after graduating from the Mohammed VI Academy.
He has signed a one-year deal, with an option for a further three. He was a quarter-finalist at the 2025 U17 World Cup.
He will begin with the club’s elite group, with scope to train alongside the first team. In Morocco, some observers have likened his potential trajectory to Yassine Bounou.
Bellaarouch also won the 2025 U17 Africa Cup of Nations, beating Mali in the final. That Mali side included Seydou Dembélé, another recent Reims recruit.
Reims had initially targeted Noé Le Page, but he completed pre-season with Stade Rennais and the Breton club chose not to release him.
