Samba Diawara joins Auxerre as Will Still’s assistant, replacing Jean-Alain Boumsong | OneFootball

Auxerre have added Samba Diawara to Will Still’s backroom staff as assistant coach, the club said in a statement on Tuesday afternoon. He previously worked with Still at Reims.

The 48-year-old Franco-Malian had served as assistant at Reims since 2022, including two years alongside the Belgian coach. He twice stepped in as interim head coach, in May 2024, then from February to June 2025.

The former player began his coaching career in Belgium and will now continue it in Yonne with Auxerre. He joins a staff that includes Nicolas Still, Barthélémy Delecroix, Clément Lemaître, Simon Pouplin and Djibril Cissé.

He replaces Jean-Alain Boumsong within the staff. Thanks were expressed for Boumsong’s work.

Boumsong had been an assistant since May 2025 and was notably in charge of the defensive side. He left during the off-season.
