Chris Smalling joins FC Porto already up to speed

Chris Smalling, FC Porto’s unexpected new signing, took part in his first training session with the Dragons yesterday morning. According to Record, the defender showed good fitness levels, despite not having played an official match since 21 May, when he was representing Al Fayha.

The player’s showing was positive enough for Francesco Farioli to include him in the 23-man squad for this afternoon’s match against Deportivo in A Coruña, scheduled for 6 pm.
