The Blades boss is still looking to ship some players out before the end of the transfer window
Sheffield United are still looking to be active in the final few weeks of the transfer window as they strive to get back into the play-off conversation after a disastrous campaign last year.
The Blades have had to be smart with their business, as they undergo their first transfer window as a Championship club without parachute payments since January 2019. Evidently, they haven't been able to throw as much money around as they've become used to.
Chris Wilder's side have been able to raise fees and reduce wages by letting go of big earners and some salable assets. Gustavo Hamer, who was in the final year of his Blades deal, departed for £6 million to former side Coventry City, and academy graduate Andre Brooks left for £8 million to Norwich City.
But there are still more fringe players and others simply unfavoured by the Blades manager who could find their way out of Bramall Lane before September 1.
Mark McGuinness is the main name on the transfer list currently, but has been given a slight reprieve following consecutive starts in the EFL Cup and the first Championship game of the campaign. These three outcasts may not be afforded the same opportunity.

It's been a confusing year for Nils Zatterstrom at Sheffield United, after arriving from Malmo for a reported €3.3 million. The Swedish centre-back was the most high-profile of the AI-based signings that the Blades made last season.
However, the 21-year-old is yet to make his senior debut for the club, making just three Championship squads in the first half of the season before being sent out on loan to Serie A side Genoa in January, where he was left on the bench in 14 of his 17 league games.
Many speculate that Chris Wilder has written Zatterstrom off due to the AI nature of his arrival, but putting it plainly, he was unfavoured by both him and Ruben Selles. One thing is for certain: Wilder prefers experience in his backline, and the Swede lacks that.
"Nils is a young player, but he needs football," Wilder said in late June. "He has to go and play 23, 24, 25 games before Christmas. Then we can have a longer look at him instead of playing in our 21s."
According to the Star, Zatterstrom will be available to leave on loan this summer.

Forgotten goalkeeper Ivo Grbic, on the other hand, will be allowed to leave permanently if the right offer comes in during the final weeks of the window.
The 30-year-old hasn't played for the Blades in over two years now, since he started in a 4-2 win over Wrexham in the EFL Cup first round in August 2024. You'd have to go all the way back to April that year for his last league appearance.
Grbic had the unenviable task of arriving at a Sheffield United side in January 2024 who were leaking goals down at the bottom of the Premier League. The former Atlético Madrid backup was tasked with plugging that, but conceded 30 times in 10 games in all competitions.
He's spent the last two seasons on loan in Turkey; first with Rizespor and then at Karagumruk last year. He's kept 10 clean sheets in 54 games across both campaigns.
With Michael Cooper in goal and Adam Davies as a veteran reserve, there's a clear route out for Grbic this summer.

Finally, the Star states that Rhys Norrington-Davies will also be allowed to leave permanently if the right move comes along this summer.
The Welshman spent last season out on loan at QPR after making just two starts under Chris Wilder during the 2024/25 term. He played regular football at Loftus Road, starting 34 Championship games, but it hasn't done much to tempt the Blades boss to keep him around.
With Sam McCallum and Harrison Burrows at the club, Norrington-Davies is a clear third choice at left-back, and despite starting the EFL Cup first-round match at Mansfield Town to open the campaign, he was subbed at half-time and then didn't feature in the squad for the league opener against Birmingham City on Saturday.
With Sheffield United looking to return to the play-off conversation this season, the Riyadh-born full-back doesn't look to have the quality to remain part of the squad at a consistent rate, and a nine-year association with the Blades could be coming to an end.
