Christ Makosso signs four-year deal with Auxerre

AJ Auxerre have signed Congo international Christ Makosso on a four-year deal to 2030 from Luton Town for just over €2m, the club announced on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old centre-back has five caps and came through Sochaux. He spent 2024 with RWDM in Belgium, then was loaned by Luton to Oxford from January to June 2026 in the Championship.

His arrival adds to a busy summer as new head coach Will Still pushes to assemble his squad quickly.

Auxerre have triggered the option to buy Danny Namaso, who has signed until 2029. They have also added a third goalkeeper, Mamadou Diop, and brought back Romain Faivre on loan.

The window began with the capture of promising Arthur Piedfort. Recent additions include Sékou Fofana and Xiangxin Wei.
