Ciro Immobile has wasted little time settling at Paris FC and in Paris, a week after arriving in the capital.

According to L'Équipe, he played his first minutes on Wednesday at Lorient as Paris FC were knocked out of the Coupe de France last 16, losing 0-2.

On his first Saturday evening in Paris, he dined with Marco Verratti at the midfielder’s Italian restaurant. The pair first linked at Pescara in 2011-12, and Immobile also sought advice from Gianluigi Donnarumma, a team-mate in Italy’s Euro 2021 win.

The ex-Lazio forward, a European Golden Shoe winner in 2020, moved swiftly off the pitch too. After a medical, he found a flat in Trocadéro and signed a six-month deal with an optional extra year. He is understood to be very happy in Paris and keen to settle for the longer term.

After the game, he said the week had been complicated by a rushed move from Bologna, but he was delighted to be here and wants to help a team that aims to grow quickly.

In the dressing room he has settled fast, gravitating to compatriots Diego Coppola and Luca Koleosho, and chatting with Timothée Kolodziejczak, a former Sevilla team-mate.

Head coach Stéphane Gilli says he arrived humbly, has integrated despite only five days, and will raise standards. On Friday he added Immobile will be useful through his movement and hold-up play. The striker could start Sunday at Auxerre, with Paris FC the 12th club of his career.
