Goals from Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw, Alex Greenwood, Aoba Fujino and Vivianne Miedema secured a memorable 4-0 victory over Brighton at Wembley, ensuring the famous trophy came back to Manchester.

In doing so, Andrée Jeglertz’s side have completed a WSL and FA Cup double for the first time in our history, underlining our domestic dominance in 2025/26.

It was the perfect way to bring the curtain down on a fantastic campaign for the Blues with City becoming just the third team to win both trophies in the same season, alongside Chelsea and Arsenal.

City’s journey to FA Cup glory began with a trip to Bournemouth in the fourth round, where we recorded a 6-0 success on the south coast.

Meetings with WSL 2 side’s Sheffield United and Birmingham City followed in Round Five and the quarter-finals respectively, with a 4-0 win at the Joie Stadium over the Blades followed by a 1-0 triumph at St Andrew’s.

That set-up a tantalising semi-final trip to holders, Chelsea, with the Blues coming from two goals down to seal a memorable win at Stamford Bridge.

Trailing 2-0 with less than five minutes of normal time remaining, strikes from Mary Fowler and Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw sent the game to extra-time, before the Jamaican headed home a winner to send City to Wembley for the first time since 2022.

In the showpiece, the Blues then beat the Seagulls 4-0 to win our first FA Cup since November 2020.

Director of Football Therese Sjogran led the tributes for City’s double winners: “This is a fantastic way to end a special season for Manchester City. I’d like to congratulate Andrée, the staff and all the players for the role they’ve played in this success.

“As with our Men’s First Team, a domestic double is a tremendous achievement, and one we should be proud of.

“We have also made history by winning the WSL and the FA Cup for the first time in the same season, which is another shining example of the tireless efforts that have gone into the year.

“Having won the WSL earlier this month, it’s testament to the professionalism, hard work and mentality of this team that we have kept going to make an already amazing season a truly special one.

“We go again in 2026/27 on our return to European football but, tonight at least, we will reflect on and celebrate what has been a remarkable nine months for City.”
