Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw, Vivianne Miedema and Aoba Fujino have been nominated for December’s PFA WSL Fans’ Player of the Month Award.

City’s trio are in contention for the prize alongside Everton’s Honoka Hayashi, Spurs’ Olivia Holdt and Arsenal’s Katie McCabe.

It follows a fantastic festive period for Andrée Jeglertz’s side where we won each of our three matches in all competitions and maintained our place at the Barclays Women’s Super League summit.

Top-flight wins over Leicester and Aston Villa meant we went into the winter break six points ahead of second-place Chelsea and our victory over West Ham secured our place in the Subway Women’s League Cup semi-finals.

Shaw, Miedema and Fujino all helped us to the trio of victories which has seen them shortlisted for the PFA award in December.

By plundering seven goals across the three matches, Bunny reached new heights for the Club as she became the first women’s player in City’s history to reach and then surpass 100 goals.

A brace against the Foxes raised her overall tally to 99 before she reached triple figures with our opener against Aston Villa when she met Miedema’s cross to iconically direct home.

She’d score three more against the Villans to collect the match ball and she was on the scoresheet once again when she headed home against West Ham.

Miedema’s assist for Bunny’s 100th was one of her three goal involvements in December – and after helping us to the victory over Leicester at the King Power Stadium - she was instrumental in the 6-1 triumph over Aston Villa a week later.

She followed up providing Bunny’s opener with a wonderful sweeping pass to Fujino before the latter fired into the net.

And the Netherlands forward then showcased her poacher’s instinct as Fujino returned the favour by sliding the ball across the goal line – allowing the Dutch forward to tuck into an empty net for her fifth goal of the season.

Those two goals were also Japan international, Fujino’s, two goal involvements in as many WSL matches as she missed the trip to West Ham as we closed the calendar year.

The blisteringly quick winger has enjoyed a strong season so far with her currently on four goals and two assists in 2025/26.
