Claudio Úbeda has left his role as Boca head coach after the club chose not to renew his contract following their Copa Libertadores exit.

According to LaNumer12.com.ar, the widely anticipated decision ends his time in charge of the first team, with the hierarchy seeking a change of direction after a damaging international setback.

Úbeda took over after Miguel Ángel Russo departed, overseeing 34 matches with 18 wins, seven draws and nine defeats, a return of roughly 60 percent. His side scored 51 goals and conceded 24.

Despite those numbers, they could not meet the club’s main continental objective. The squad has been granted leave and will report back at Ezeiza on 18 June.

The break amounts to 21 days of holiday. During the hiatus, the board are working against the clock to identify, agree and present a successor before winter pre-season starts. Names are circulating at La Bombonera, and the coming days will be decisive in determining who takes the job for the second half of the year.
