Clément Turpin and François Letexier have been selected as central referees for the 2026 World Cup. FIFA announced the list on Thursday for the tournament running from 11 June to 19 July.
In all, 52 referees, 88 assistant referees and 30 video officials have been appointed, drawn from six confederations and 50 member associations.
The officiating pool is 41 more than at Qatar 2022, a 24% rise.
The expansion mirrors the tournament itself, which will feature 48 teams instead of 32 and 104 matches rather than 64, a 62.5% jump in games.
Six women are included across the officiating team, the same number as in Qatar, with two assigned as central referees.
Counting assistant and video officials, the French contingent numbers seven.
