Sud Ouest reports that Bordeaux, hit with a ban on recruitment for the next three transfer windows, are to lodge two appeals to have the decision annulled.
FIFA placed the club on its list of teams barred from signing players on 27 March. The governing body states the sanction applies to the next three windows, a threat that had loomed for months.
The case stems from a complaint filed with FIFA by the Spanish club from Gijon, which is seeking €1.5 million from Bordeaux over the 2023 transfer of midfielder Pedro Diaz.
The club intends to act before the next transfer window, first at the TAS, then through national courts, in a bid to overturn the ruling.
Club lawyer Matthieu Barandas said they remain relatively calm and believe their legal position is correct.
