After two and a half weeks off, Club América’s squad and staff reported to Coapa for medical and physical tests. Full pre-season work begins on Friday in Mexico City with double sessions. The club will not head to a beach camp.
According to Americayya.net, two or three friendlies are expected at the training base, likely against Liga de Expansión sides. Their Liga MX opener is on nine January away to Xolos at Estadio Caliente.
Squad planning has begun, focusing on arrivals and departures. The board usually waits until everyone has checked in before finalising plans for the next tournament.
Talks with the coaching staff will cover potential signings and those not in the picture for Clausura 2026.
Few changes are anticipated. If all goes well, there would be about three or four exits and at most two or three additions, with further deals seen as unlikely.
The priority is midfield, with a box-to-box midfielder and an attacking midfielder targeted. Depending on exits, a defender or a centre forward could also arrive. A defender would be pursued only if Igor Lichnovsky leaves, and a striker if Víctor Dávila and Rodrigo Aguirre depart.
