Club América have sold a 49 percent stake to General Atlantic in a deal valuing the club at $490 million, the club said in a statement. Grupo Ollamani retains control.
Grupo Ollamani will hold 51 percent and remain in charge of sporting and institutional decisions.
The partnership is intended to accelerate growth and innovation ahead of the Clausura 2026 while preserving the club’s identity and leadership.
A newly formed company will own Club América, the stadium and surrounding land, aiming to drive sporting, commercial and infrastructure projects.
Emilio Azcárraga Jean will continue as executive chairman of the board, maintaining continuity at the top.
There is also a strategic collaboration with The Kraft Analytics Group, part of Robert Kraft’s Kraft Group, expected to bring advanced analytics and operational expertise.
As part of the reorganisation, América has created Grupo Águilas, a holding entity that will consolidate the club, the stadium and adjacent properties.
The club reiterated its commitment to compete for championships, fill the stands with emotion and represent supporters in Mexico and around the world.
