Club América have secured a Leagues Cup 2026 quarter-final against Columbus Crew. According to Americayya.net, the tie is scheduled for 26 or 27 August at a United States venue to be chosen by América.

América advanced from the group after two wins, over San Diego and Portland, and a draw with Austin. That haul took them to seven points and second in the Liga MX table.

It was a largely dominant group phase for the Águilas, achieved with only two new signings and without their best player, Alejandro Zendejas.

Columbus are historically a strong MLS side, though this season they are 11th in the Eastern Conference with 20 points.

In this Leagues Cup they beat Atlas 3-1 and Pachuca 2-1, and drew with Pumas. All three matches were at home.
