With the transfer window about to close, Club América are still pursuing two additions requested by head coach Guillermo Almada, a holding midfielder and an attacking midfielder. Americayya.net reports that they have submitted an offer for Levante UD’s Carlos Álvarez while Sevilla and Rayo Vallecano are also in the frame.
América appear to hold an advantage because their proposal is the strongest, yet the 23-year-old is not fully convinced about moving to Mexico, a stance that could favour the Spanish options.
Álvarez is a Spanish attacking midfielder who can also operate on the right wing. He stands at 1.68 metres and is noted for power and pace, in a mould comparable to Alejandro Zendejas.
Those attributes could suit Almada’s style, which demands sacrifice and high-speed attacking play.
If a deal is completed it would be an impressive capture for América, though acceptance looks complicated at this stage given his age and the offers from Spanish football.
