Could Álvaro Fidalgo return to Club América?

Álvaro Fidalgo is to remain at Real Betis, with no prospect of a Club América return this season despite fresh rumours linking him with other Spanish clubs or a move back to Liga MX. According to Americayya.net, a switch to América is off the table.

The Spaniard joined Betis six months ago to realise his dream of playing in La Liga, and this season he is targeting the Champions League. His first campaign brought just over 600 minutes, largely from the bench, and this term has started with no minutes across two matches.

After going unused against Real Sociedad with the window still open, Fidalgo said he hoped to stay at Betis. His recent absence has been attributed to a minor knee issue, so the club have opted not to risk him.

While he is expected to be a substitute option, Fidalgo aims to win a starting place and intends to remain at Betis at least for the rest of the year. He wants to fight for a spot in the starting XI.

Personal circumstances also weigh in, with Fidalgo awaiting the birth of his first child and wishing to remain in Spain close to family. His intention is to stay in his home country for now.

Should he ever return to Mexico, he has made clear he would choose Club América over any other side. For now, any comeback will have to wait.
