Club América are understood to be happy with Raphael Veiga and plan to purchase his rights when his loan ends, but the final decision rests with the player. According to Americayya.net, reports in Brazil have indicated his intention was to return to Palmeiras.

Veiga arrived at the start of this year, one of the few signings André Jardine managed during his years at Club América.

His first tournament brought only flashes, underlining the challenge of adapting to Liga MX, something expected for a player who spent his career in Brazil’s Serie A.

After Jardine’s departure, many thought he would not stay under Guillermo Almada’s very vertical approach. Instead he has become an undisputed starter and one of the side’s best so far this tournament.

He joined on a one-year loan with an option to buy for around seven million dollars. The deal ends at the close of the year, meaning the hierarchy must decide on his future.

There is still time to choose a path. On football grounds, paying the fee and keeping him for several years would be a strong piece of business.
