HLN are reporting that, after deciding against signing Crystal Palace winger Romain Esse, Club Brugge have landed on 17-year-old Bayern Munich winger Wisdom Mike instead. The teenager will swap Bayern Munich for Club Brugge and should cost the defending Belgian champions around €5m. Mike will give Club Brugge a nice balance of four wingers, joining another new signing in Jan Virgili, with Mamadou Diakhon and Carlos Forbs already at the club.
Mike, who is eligible to represent both Nigeria and Germany at international level, played five games for Bayern Munich’s senior team, with all of those coming during the previous campaign. He made his debut under Vincent Kompany and will give Club Brugge another player capable of playing out wide on the left.
For Club Brugge, they are once again deciding to reinvest the money received for top players such as Raphael Onyedika and Christos Tzolis into younger players that they can then develop and sell on. Club Brugge have found a fine balance in doing this while also remaining competitive domestically.
