FC Porto want to make progress on a deal for Tottenham Hotspur talent Souza, who the Portuguese outfit deem a priority target.
Tottenham brought in Souza from Brazilian side Santos in the winter transfer window to beef up their left-back options and he earned praise from then boss Thomas Frank after his debut against Manchester United.
The young Brazilian made a total of four appearances last season in the Premier League, including outings against Crystal Palace and Liverpool.
This summer 20-year-old Souza is drawing attention from European giants Porto and they made an enquiry about the player earlier in the window.
Spurs brought in Andrew Robertson from Liverpool this summer, which could raise a question mark over Souza’s game time under Roberto De Zerbi.

However, it has been suggested that the Italian tactician has ‘blind faith’ in Souza and rates the abilities of the young left-back very highly.
Porto have already tried with multiple offers for Souza, but De Zerbi has not been interested in listening to any of them.
It is understood that the Portuguese giants submitted one offer to take Souza on loan with also two permanent transfer bids.
Porto though do not appear to be giving up and, according to French journalist Santi Aouna, they want to push and make progress on a move for Souza, who they see as a priority.

The Portuguese giants have not given up the hunt and will hope to be able to convince Tottenham over the coming weeks.
Whether Tottenham change their plans on Souza remains to be seen, but so far De Zerbi has been solid on keeping him.
That desire is likely to only increase if Djed Spence moves to Inter Milan, while there is also interest from Italy in left-back Destiny Udogie.
