CM: Maignan ‘not tempted’ by Bayern or Man City – the details of his imminent Milan extension | OneFootball

Another source has claimed that AC Milan are getting closer to being able to announce the renewal of Mike Maignan despite interest from abroad.

As Calciomercato.com write, Maignan was adjudged to be the MVP by UEFA during Milan’s 3-1 Champions League win over Real Madrid on Tuesday night. In addition to denying Kylian Mbappe, he made an incredible late save on Brahim Diaz too.

The French goalkeeper’s greatest strength seems to be immediately responding to a mistake with something special,  andit is no coincidence that he is among the top five goalkeepers in the world. As such, he will also be rewarded by Milan.

The goalkeeper market has always been very particular, a sort of chess game. Bayern Munich are thinking about the post-Neuer era, while Manchester City are grappling with Ederson’s doubts amid Saudi interest.

Both clubs have sounded out Maignan in recent months without going into concrete actions. Maignan ‘has not been tempted’ and ‘has not asked his agents’ to go any deeper because he is ‘happy at Milan’.

The negotiation for the renewal of Maignan’s deal is very close to a definitive turning point. The agreement should be for four years, with a possible option for a fifth.

Now the parties are resolving the last details on the salary figure, but it is expected that it will be around €6m net per season including bonuses.
