Tijjani Reijnders has established himself as one of the best midfielders in Europe this season, and AC Milan are well aware of the interest in the Dutchman.
Last season, few players stood out, but you could argue Reijnders did. The Dutchman was often deployed out of position, and whilst his minutes were regular, his position was anything but. However, there were never complaints, and for the most part, his performances did not drop massively.
Now, under Paulo Fonseca, Reijnders’ importance to the midfield is clear, and his overall game has improved significantly. Goals are frequent, and whilst Milan do not rely on the midfielder, he leads the team, and there are few players that could replace him – perhaps, across Europe, let alone within the Rossoneri’s ranks.
For this reason, there has been considerable interest in the midfielder, and Calciomercato.com have reported that Real Madrid and Chelsea have joined the list of interested parties, but with his renewal getting closer to being completed, there is little reason to worry.
After all, as Daniele Longo puts it, watching Reijnders is ‘poetry in motion’, so why would the best clubs not try for him?
It seems, at least for the time being though, the Dutchman will remain with the Diavolo, much to the delight of the fans.
