Comolli and Carnevali make first comments after Juventus revamp | OneFootball

Giovanni Carnevali is ‘proud and honoured’ to join Juventus, while Damien Comolli thanks John Elkann and the Bianconeri supporters after confirming his resignation.

Juventus announced the appointment of Giovanni Carnevali as their new CEO and General Manager on Friday, replacing Damien Comolli.

The latter had been appointed just one year ago.

Juventus accepted Comolli’s resignation at an extraordinary board of directors meeting on Friday morning, and issued an official statement afterwards.

Comolli speaks out after Juventus exit

“I have decided to step down from my role as Chief Executive Officer of Juventus Football Club with immediate effect,” Comolli said.

“I would like to thank John Elkann and Exor for giving me the opportunity to work for such a prestigious Club. I would also like to thank all my colleagues at Juventus for their commitment, professionalism, and dedication, and I wish both the women’s and men’s teams every success for the upcoming season. Finally, a special thank you goes to the Juventus fans for their incredible support. They are what makes this Club truly unique and special.”

Former Sassuolo director Carnevali also spoke to Juventus’ official website after his appointment.

“I am proud and honoured to join a Club with such a rich history and strong identity,” said Carnevali.

“I would like to thank the Club, the majority shareholder, and John Elkann for the trust they have placed in me. I approach this new challenge with a strong sense of responsibility and with the conviction that, through daily commitment, it is possible to build a sustainable path of growth and a successful future. Together with all areas of the organisation, we will work to ensure that Juventus continues to be a leading force at both national and international level, in full respect of the Club’s heritage and the ambitions of our fans.”

Carnevali had served as Sassuolo’s CEO since 2012.

Comolli, on the other hand, was hired by Juventus in 2025, first as General Manager and then as CEO starting in November 2025.

The Bianconeri finished the 2025-26 Serie A campaign in sixth and will be playing in the Europa League next season.

Coach Luciano Spalletti has remained in charge, having signed a contract until 2028 this past April.
