Como captain Lucas Da Cunha (25) is the latest player to earn a place in Zinédine Zidane’s enlarged France squad for the upcoming international break, as per Le Parisien. Zidane will announce his first squad since being appointed manager of Les Bleus on 18th September.
Zidane has plenty of whittling down to do, it would seem. There are plenty of uncapped players included in the provisional squad. Ismaelo Ganiou, Pablo Pagis, Andy Diouf, and Esteban Lepaul all have a place. Whether any of them make the final squad is another question entirely.
Da Cunha also features. The 25-year-old midfielder now captains a Como team that this season are competing in the UEFA Champions League. Since joining the Serie A side from OGC Nice back in 2023, Da Cunha has played 133 times for Como, scoring 20 and registering 15 assists. To date, he has only represented Les Bleus up to U19 level.
