THE MATCH REPORT

The Bianconeri started at full throttle and immediately took control of the game. The first highlight of the match came as early as the second minute, as Randal Kolo Muani set off with the ball at his feet, left the opposition defence in his wake by attacking the space behind them and cut inside with a fine move, unleashing a well-placed right-footed shot which Marco Carnesecchi parried with his gloves.

Atalanta made their presence felt after ten minutes with a long-range effort from Lazar Samardzic, but the shot was weak and posed no threat to Guglielmo Vicario, who tracked the ball’s trajectory and made the save. Juventus’s pressure grew with every passing minute, and the feeling that a goal was on the cards materialised in the 27th minute.

Luciano Spalletti’s side put together a move that released Zeki Celik down the left. The full-back delivered a low, driven cross that swept across the entire Atalanta penalty area, reaching the far post where Conceicao pounced with the finish. He struck first-time with his left foot and beat Carnesecchi to make it 1-0. The Allianz Stadium erupted with excitement and backed the team through the remainder of the first half, which, with no further action, ended with the Bianconeri leading by a goal.

Fifteen minutes into the second half, the Bianconeri looked threatening once again. Nico Gonzalez drove down the wing and delivered a perfect cross for Weston McKennie’s run, but his header was saved by Carnesecchi. Three minutes later, it was Atalanta’s turn to look dangerous from a set-piece. Thomas Kristensen’s header sailed over Vicario, but Kolo Muani made a timely intervention on the goal line to preserve the lead.

In the 70th minute, a splendid solo run by Nico Gonzalez ended with an unfortunate slip just as he was about to shoot. Five minutes later, a beautiful counter-attack was launched by Edon Zhegrova. The winger advanced with the ball at his feet and played it to the onrushing Pape Matar Sarr, whose shot from outside the box forced Carnesecchi into a save.

After a series of chances, Juventus doubled their lead in the 77th minute. Zhegrova delivered a pinpoint corner to the near post, where Bremer rose imperiously to head home and make it 2-0. The final stages of the match were a matter of managing the lead. The Bianconeri saw off Atalanta to secure three vital points ahead of the international break.
