Conceicao insists AC Milan “did absolutely nothing” to win | OneFootball

Francisco Conceicao insists Juventus were the better team during their 1-1 draw against AC Milan yesterday, as the Bianconeri played like the team that wanted to win.

Juve and Milan were on winning streaks ahead of the match, and both teams were keen to maintain those streaks and ensure they won the game. However, the Bianconeri wanted the victory more and dominated the match.

Their dominance ultimately did not matter because they failed to take their chances, allowing Milan to score against the run of play. The result was frustrating for Juventus, particularly because they had created opportunities to take control of the game.

Ruben Amorim’s team were very close to coming away with the victory on this occasion, but it never happened, as the Bianconeri found a late leveller in the tie.

Even Milan players will admit that Juve played the better game, and it would have been unfair if they had lost the match. As a result, even a draw is probably harsh on the Bianconeri.

Conceicao praises Juventus performance

After the match, Conceicao said via Football Italia:

“During the 90 minutes, I feel the truth is that we deserved to win the game.

“Milan scored the goal, but did absolutely nothing else. I hit the post, Fede scored, so it was in a way good that we didn’t lose, but we deserved all three points.”

Conceicao’s comments underline his belief that Juventus had done enough to secure victory. The Bianconeri had the better of the contest and created opportunities, but they could not make their superiority count on the scoresheet.

Juventus settle for a point

The late leveller ensured that Juve avoided defeat, but Conceicao clearly believes they deserved more from the match. Their failure to take their chances ultimately prevented them from turning their performance into three points.

Milan had managed to take the lead despite being under pressure, but Juventus continued pushing until they found a way back into the game.

The 1-1 result therefore leaves both teams with a point, although Conceicao believes Juventus deserved all three points based on their performance across the 90 minutes.
