Confirmed: Barcelona superstar named La Liga Player of the Month for August | OneFootball

Following a brilliant start to the 2026/27 campaign, FC Barcelona winger and club captain Raphinha has been voted the La Liga Player of the Month for August.

The 29-year-old Brazilian international has easily been the best player not only in Spain but all of Europe in the early parts of the new season.

Raphinha has already plundered eight goals in five games across all competitions for Barcelona this season, helping the team maintain a 100% record at the start of the season.

Of his eight goals, six have come in La Liga, and five in the month of August from the Catalans’ first three matches of the season.

Indeed, Raphinha began his campaign with a brace against Elche before scoring once against Athletic Club, which was followed by another brace versus Rayo Vallecano.

Deployed in an unfamiliar role as a centre-forward, the Brazilian winger is thriving in Hansi Flick’s team, leading from the front, not only in terms of goals and assists, but also with his off-the-ball work rate and defensive contribution.

As such, he has been deservedly named the La Liga Player of the Month for August, beating competition from the likes of Jude Bellingham, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Nahuel Tenaglia, and Alex Baena.

Impressed by his brilliant start to the season, Barcelona are also starting to work on a new contract for Raphinha, with the player also very keen on signing a new deal.
