Confirmed: Five Barcelona players start for Spain against England | OneFootball

World champions Spain kick off their UEFA Nations League campaign tonight with an away contest against England at Wembley.

This will be La Roja’s first game after they beat Argentina 1-0 in the finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup to lift the trophy in the USA.

As they get set to take on Thomas Tuchel’s side, Spain boss Luis de la Fuente has announced the starting lineup that will take the field at Wembley.

And, as many as five Barcelona players feature in the lineup, out of the total seven that have been called up by the manager.

Captain and World Cup Golden Ball winner Rodri starts in midfield, where he is partnered with Fabian Ruiz, meaning Pedri has been rested.

Meanwhile, Eric Garcia starts at right-back, while Pau Cubarsi slots in at centre-back, resuming his excellent partnership with Aymeric Laporte from the World Cup.

Dani Olmo slots in as the attacking midfielder, with Fermin Lopez being left on the bench. Lamine Yamal is the fifth Barça player in the side, starting on the right flank.

Former Barcelona star Ferran Torres starts as the No. 9, with Nico Williams occupying the left wing.

Meanwhile, the Blaugrana’s summer signing, Anthony Gordon, is named in the England starting XI.
