As many as four Barcelona players feature in the Spain lineup for their World Cup opener against Cape Verde.

Indeed, Pau Cubarsi, Pedri, Ferran Torres, and Gavi all feature from the get-go for La Roja as they look to make a strong statement and reinforce their status as one of the favourites for the tournament.

Interestingly, Ferran starts on the right flank, given that his Barcelona teammate, Lamine Yamal, has only returned from an injury and is not ready to start the game.

Meanwhile, Gavi has been positioned out on the left side by De la Fuente for the game. Pedri operates as the No. 10 in front of the double pivot of Rodri and Fabian Ruiz.

As for Cubarsi, he partners with Aymeric Laporte at the heart of the Spanish defence. Marcos Llorente edges out Eric Garcia for a starting berth at right-back.

Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia also does not start, with the manager preferring to go with Unai Simon. Dani Olmo is also on the bench.
