As was expected, FC Barcelona have announced the transfer of teenage midfielder Guille Fernandez to second-division side RCD Mallorca.
“FC Barcelona and RCD Mallorca have reached an agreement for the transfer of player Guille Fernandez. The club reserves a percentage of any future sale of the player,” the statement from the Blaugrana read.
“FC Barcelona would like to wish Guille Fernandez good luck in this new stage and thanks him for his dedication and professionalism during all these years at the club.”
For a while now, Guille had been regarded as one of the most promising young talents coming through the ranks at La Masia.
The 18-year-old starlet had been with the Barcelona academy since 2018 and enjoyed a steady rise through the youth setup, before making his Barça Atletic debut in March 2024, becoming the youngest player to do so.
Guille did multiple pre-seasons with the first team under Hansi Flick and even made it to the matchday squads on several occasions. However, a senior debut never came for the midfield talent.
Now, he leaves Barcelona on a permanent transfer after over 60 games for the reserve team.
While the club statement mentions that they retain a future sale percentage, reports in Spain indicate that they will also receive a small fee of around €3-4 million for the midfielder.
