Confirmed: Two Real Madrid stars in England squad for Nations League fixtures as Trent returns | OneFootball

With the first international break of the 2026/27 season almost here, national team managers have been announcing the squads for the three-week window during which they will play three to four matches.

The England national team will be involved in the UEFA Nations League, and manager Thomas Tuchel has released the squad list, with two Real Madrid stars included.

Indeed, Jude Bellingham, who has been a permanent fixture in the England setup, retains his place in the team, especially after his exceptional performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup followed by a strong start to the new season.

Meanwhile, in what can be termed as a surprise, Tuchel has decided to recall Trent Alexander-Arnold to the England setup.

The Real Madrid defender has long been overlooked by the Three Lions’ head coach, even for the World Cup where he opted to use makeshift right-backs instead of relying on the 27-year-old.

His last appearance for the national team came all the way back in June 2025, in a qualifying game against Andorra.

However, following his decent start to the season at Real Madrid under Jose Mourinho, Trent has earned his place back in the England squad and will hope to make an impression.

The Three Lions are scheduled to play Spain, Czechia (twice) and Croatia in the Nations League during the break.
