Conmebol has set the 2027 calendar and confirmed a pause in the Libertadores and Sudamericana from 24 June to 25 July while the Women’s World Cup takes place in Brazil. The Libertadores final is scheduled for 27 November.

The Recopa is slated for 17 and 24 February, bringing together the previous season’s continental winners. In 2026 Flamengo faced Lanús of Argentina, the Sudamericana champions.

The break reflects FIFA’s use of stadiums and training centres during the tournament, so the confederation will pause to avoid clashes of dates and venues.

It will be the first Women’s World Cup staged in South America. Matches will be played across eight host cities, including Recife, Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Brasília.

Clubs whose grounds are selected will have to adjust plans, and the CBF is working to shape the domestic calendar to limit disruption for teams ceding their arenas.

The Libertadores will open in 2027 with preliminary rounds. The group stage starts on 6 April, and the competition will resume after the mid-year pause to settle the finalists.
