“We’re focused on taking care of every detail, because we have a very demanding week ahead, playing two or three matches under 72 hours apart. That’s why we’ll train this afternoon to recover a bit more. We’ll stay at the hotel, as always, and make sure we get enough rest.”

The Valencia Marathon

“The Valencia Marathon tomorrow is something that required some analysis, because it’s important that we’re seen worldwide; Spanish football needs to be given the greatest possible visibility. The 46,000 people who go to Mestalla are also the essence of football, and we have to take care of them. We hope they can be there tomorrow and that we don’t miss anyone. One event is just as important as the other.”

Possible rotations after the match against FC Cartagena

“I’ve already analysed that match. The players who played in that game are in better shape to help the team today. That shared the suffering also helps you grow as a team, and I also saw them enjoying going through to the next round, which was the objective.”

The next match against Sevilla FC

“It’s a very demanding match. They have some players out, but also a very deep squad. They are very physical and it will be similar to the Rayo Vallecano match in terms of the type of opponent we are facing. They encourage a lot of duels, with little space, they mark and they press. We are eager to continue the improvement the team have been showing in LaLiga. It will be an extremely demanding game. The important thing is what we do, and we don’t change our ambition based on the opponents. It depends on us, on giving our fans the best we can. That is down to the ambition we must have as a team.”

Beltrán and Ramazani

“I evaluate players based on their performance. A striker, in addition to finishing off moves, does many other things. Lucas' commitment to the team is enormous. Against FC Cartagena, I his values and effort left me very satisfied. He makes a very important contribution to the team. Ramazani was coming off an injury; he's a player with interesting qualities for us, and the substitution was due to medical protocol.”

Danjuma

“He has a very high level of effort and commitment. We're very happy that he can continue to be this way. Not every match can be perfect. That's just how football is. I always value commitment, effort, and attitude, and in that respect, he's outstanding.”
