Le Journal du Dimanche report this morning that former France Women’s national team manager Corinne Diacre has been questioned by police investigators as part of the investigation into the attack suffered by PSG midfielder Kheira Hamraoui in November of 2021.
Diacre, who was dismissed from her position last month and replaced by Hervé Renard, is said to have explained that she was the subject of “intimidation” in the spring of 2022 to get her to keep Hamraoui out of the France squad.
She was also interviewed on the alleged influence of César Mavacala, an advisor to PSG striker Marie-Antoinette Katoto and partner of Kadidiatou Diani, who was recently charged with extortion and was allegedly looking to grow his influence within the club. According to JDD, the former Clermont manager intends to add her name as a plaintiff in the case. Jean-Pierre Bernès, the agent of both Diacre and Didier Deschamps, was also interviewed.
Exchanges between Mavacala and former PSG midfielder Aminata Diallo – who was at the wheel on the night Hamraoui was attacked and is suspected of being involved in the case – revealed by Stade 2 reportedly saw Diallo take aim at Hamraoui, while the two also discussed Diacre’s situation – “Don’t worry about Corinne, it’s planned out. […] Don’t worry, she’ll be gone as well, they’ll understand. She has to clear off as well.”
