Corinthians academy duo start in Paulistão Feminino win

With goals from Letícia Monteiro, Ivana Fuso, and Eudimilla, Corinthians defeated Realidade Jovem 3-0 on the evening of last Sunday (16), at Estádio Municipal José Liberatti, in Osasco, in a match valid for the 14th and final round of the first phase of the Paulista Women's Championship.

The result meant that the Brabas finished the first stage at the top of the tournament with 35 points (11 wins, two draws, and one loss – 32 goals scored and six conceded). In addition to the three points, the match marked the debut of defender Duda Mineira and midfielder Manu Olivan, both developed in Corinthians' youth academy, as starters for the team this season.

The 20-year-old defender, who has a contract until December 2027, played the full 90 minutes and had a solid performance in the match. Manu Olivan, in turn, had a slightly less active game and was substituted by coach Lucas Piccinato in the 34th minute of the second half, when right-back Gi Fernandes came on in her place.

Both have already played three times for the first team this season. Earlier this year, Duda Mineira recovered from a serious knee injury and had been alternating between the main team and the U-20. Manu Olivan, on the other hand, is more frequently present in the women's U-20 squad and started in 15 of the Brabinhas' 17 matches, counting both the Paulista and Brazilian Championships for the category.

Duda Mineira has seven appearances for the Corinthians first team (two as a starter), with six wins and one loss, and has provided one assist. She made her professional debut at just 16 years old, in a match against Atlético-MG, away from home, in the Women's Brasileirão, in March 2022.

Manu Olivan made her professional debut in August of the same year, in a match against Ferroviária, at home, in the Paulista Women's Championship. Like Duda, she has seven matches for the senior team (two as a starter), with five wins and two losses. Both were U-16 Brazilian champions in 2021 wearing the Corinthians shirt.

The Corinthians Women's team now returns to the field this Saturday (22), at 11 am (Brasília time), at Arena Barueri, to face São Paulo in the first leg of the semifinal of the Paulista Women's Championship. Having had the better campaign, the Brabas will decide a possible qualification at home.
