Corinthians have agreed with Caixa Econômica Federal to suspend payment of the third 2026 instalment on the Neo Química Arena refinancing while they negotiate a new solution to the stadium debt. According to Meu Timao, the roughly R$ 27 million instalment due on 25 September has been put on hold.
The club have proposed that the bank take over the stadium’s naming rights as part of a package to settle an estimated R$ 630 million, with the rights valuation absorbed into any deal. Hypera Pharma, which signed a contract in 2020, currently holds those rights.
Other options under discussion include launching capitalisation bonds, moving the club’s financial operations to Caixa, including accounts and salary payments, and issuing cards linked to the Fiel Torcedor programme.
Corinthians have also asked Caixa to return R$ 27 million held in a reserve account created under the 2022 renegotiation, noting they are up to date and need the funds for cash flow. The bank can tap the reserve if the club default. The stadium fund must keep a minimum equal to four quarterly instalments, between R$ 80 million and R$ 120 million depending on interest rates.
The 2022 deal runs to December 2041 at 2% a year plus CDI, and principal repayments began in 2025. This year the club have paid two of four instalments, about R$ 56 million of the R$ 115 million scheduled, with the next due in December.
ge.globo reports that, if talks advance, Corinthians plan to offer Hypera Pharma naming rights to other club facilities, such as CT Dr. Joaquim Grava.
