Corinthians could see half of their Supercopa do Brasil prize money frozen by Caixa Econômica Federal, about R$ 5.775 million, after the 2-0 win over Flamengo.

According to Meu Timao, the club await any formal request from Caixa regarding the net amount already transferred, and have received no official notice.

A similar retention followed December 2025’s Copa do Brasil payout of R$ 77.175 million, with 50% retained into a security account that also takes 30% of transfer income as guarantee for the Neo Química Arena financing.

The account must cover at least four quarterly instalments, roughly R$ 80 million to R$ 120 million. If it falls below that floor, other revenues such as broadcast rights are retained to restore it.

In January, Corinthians cleared the 2025 instalments, around R$ 93 million. The next payment is due in March.

Separately, Memphis Depay is due R$ 4.7 million under a performance clause triggered by the Supercopa title.

The debt was renegotiated in 2022 to R$ 611 million, maturing in 2041. Principal repayments began in 2025 after two years of interest-only, supported by stadium revenues and Hypera Pharma naming rights worth about R$ 15 million a year.

Talks opened in September to cut the rate from Selic plus 2% to an IPCA-linked model near 9%, with no outcome yet, and O Globo reports a separate study to settle the debt by selling the naming rights to Caixa.
