Corinthians visit Pato at 17:00 on Saturday at Arena Cláudio Petrycoski for the LNF pre-quarter-final second leg, seeking a place in the last eight.
According to Meu Timao, the club are banking on their knockout pedigree to get through. The first leg ended 1-1 at Ginásio Wlamir Marques, so only a win in normal time or extra time will do, otherwise Pato progress on their better regular-season record.
Since 2020, Corinthians have won 10 of 15 LNF ties, lifting the 2022 title and finishing runners-up in 2020 and 2025. They have also fallen at the first hurdle three times.
In 2020 they reached the final, but Magnus Sorocaba denied them the title. They fell to Foz Cataratas in 2021, then lifted a second crown in 2022.
Their 2023 and 2024 campaigns ended in last-16 defeats to Minas and Jaraguá. In 2025 they beat Carlos Barbosa, Magnus and Campo Mourão to reach the final, where Jaraguá won.
This year the LNF introduced relegation and LNF Silver, sending the top four straight to the quarter-finals and fifth to 12th into the pre-quarters.
A turbulent 2026 under coach Fernando Malafaia, amid cost-cutting by president Osmar Stabile, ended with a 12th-place finish on 16 points from 15 games, a record of four wins, four draws and seven defeats. If they advance, Magnus await in the quarter-finals. Corinthians are also into the 2026 Paulista quarter-finals, third in the table and awaiting the repescagem.
