Corinthians supporters protest against Osmar Stabile before LNF tie with Pato | OneFootball

Corinthians supporters staged a protest against club president Osmar Stabile outside Parque São Jorge on Monday night, shortly before the futsal match with Pato in the Liga Nacional de Futsal knockout phase.

According to Meu Timao, around 25 to 30 supporters marched down Rua São Jorge, which leads to the club’s social headquarters, carrying a banner with a vulgar message telling him to leave the club. The group included members wearing the colours of Gaviões da Fiel, Estopim, Pavilhão Nove and Camisa 12.

Flares were lit and some fireworks were set off as the demonstrators sang, with some chants aimed at the club’s councillors.

Tensions have intensified since Corinthians were knocked out of the Copa Libertadores in the quarter-finals by Estudiantes of Argentina. Last week the squad, coaching staff and board met organised groups at CT Joaquim Grava, and there were further protests before the defeat to Fluminense.

In August, the organised supporters also rallied against senior figures and members of the Conselho Deliberativo, calling for judicial intervention and criticising the club’s politics.

The tie’s first leg takes place at Wlamir Marques.
