Corinthians begin tactical prep for Paulista opener v Ponte Preta

On the morning of this Wednesday (7th), Corinthians held their first tactical-focused training session in preparation for the debut of the Campeonato Paulista. Gathered at the Joaquim Grava Training Center and guided by coach Dorival Júnior, the players began their preparations focusing on the match against Ponte Preta, for the first round of the state championship, which takes place this Sunday (11th) at 4 p.m. (Brasília time) at the Neo Química Arena.

The routine at the training center started with strength work in the gym. Then, after warming up on the field, the squad was divided into groups for technical sector exercises. In one of the activities, the coaching staff organized a tactical exercise that consisted of a ten-on-ten match in a reduced space, where Dorival took the opportunity to instruct the athletes in various game situations.

This was the first activity of the professional squad with the addition of three players who, until this Tuesday (6th), were with the Under-20 team delegation in Jaú for the São Paulo Cup. Midfielders Gui Amorim and Luiz Gustavo Bahia, along with right-back João Vitor, left the group competing in the youth tournament and are expected to compete in the state championship at the start of the season.

It is worth remembering that the last meeting between Corinthians and Ponte Preta occurred last year, also in the 2025 Campeonato Paulista. Playing away at the Moisés Lucarelli Stadium, Timão emerged victorious with a 1-0 win, with the only goal scored by Talles Magno.
