Corinthians close to loan deal for Colombian striker for Under-20s

Corinthians continues its restructuring process in the youth categories and is close to finalizing another signing for the Under-20 team. This is the Colombian forward Nicolás Giron, 19 years old, who belongs to Universidad Católica, from Chile. The information was initially published by the Chilean newspaper AS.

Furthermore, according to the report, the deal is a loan valid until 2027 with an option to purchase a percentage of the player in the first year. If Corinthians decides to acquire the athlete, the club can buy the remaining rights in the second season. Born in 2007, the Colombian can play in youth categories for two more years.

If the athlete does not perform as expected at Parque São Jorge, he may return to the Chilean team. Originally from there, Nicolás Giron came into prominence last season, attracting interest from teams abroad and in Brazil, such as Corinthians. To protect and value the athlete, Universidad Católica signed a professional contract with the young player in early February.

It is worth noting that Corinthians has already officially announced the arrival of five players to strengthen the category: defenders Zé Antônio (Santa Cruz), Iago Melo (Flamengo), and Levy Dias (Flamengo), midfielder Christian Oliveira (Flamengo), and forward Ryan Evaristo (Boa Vista). Additionally, the Alvinegro also has an agreement with left-back João Vitor, 18 years old, who was at Athletico-PR.
