Corinthians coach Fernando Diniz charged by STJD over slap on Athletico’s Jadson

Corinthians head coach Fernando Diniz has been charged by the Superior Tribunal de Justiça Desportiva over a slap on Athletico midfielder Jadson during Thursday’s match at Neo Química Arena. According to Globo.com, the hearing is scheduled for next Tuesday.

The flashpoint came during a scuffle near the touchline. Jadson made contact with Diniz, who responded by slapping away the Athletico player’s arm.

The fourth official stepped in quickly to separate the pair.

Diniz has been cited under Article 250 of the CBJD, the Brazilian Code of Sports Justice, for acting in an unsporting or hostile manner during a match.

If found guilty, he faces a suspension of one to three matches, the penalty set for players and coaches under that article.
