Corinthians confirm contract extension with youth team centre-back

At the end of this Friday afternoon (8), Corinthians officially announced on its social media the signing of a contract addendum – increasing release clauses and salary appreciation – with center-back Cauã Ribeiro, 16 years old. Central do Timão learned that the international release clause is 100 million euros (just over R$ 616 million). His contract is valid until February 2028.

“Sport Club Corinthians Paulista formalized this Friday (8) a contract addendum for center-back Cauã Ribeiro, one of the standouts of Timão’s youth categories,” said the club in a post on social media. In 2025, the defender played 23 matches for the Under-17 team (14 wins, five draws, and four losses) and scored two goals.

In February of this year, the young defender had signed his first professional contract with Corinthians and, after standout performances, signed the aforementioned addendum. Born in 2008, the defender even became a starter for the Under-17 team in 2024, when he played 12 matches (eight wins, four draws, and one loss) and scored two goals.

However, in June of last year, he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in his left knee. The defender recovered from the injury in the first half of 2025 and returned to the field, becoming a starter for the team then led by Raphael Laruccia. In October of this year, the defender participated in his first training session with the professional squad, coached by Dorival Júnior.

Since the coach’s arrival at Parque São Jorge in April, some youngsters have been permanently promoted to the professional squad, in addition to having their contracts renewed – with increased release clauses and salary appreciation. They are: right-back João Vitor ‘Jacaré’, midfielders Luiz Gustavo Bahia and André Luiz, midfielder Dieguinho, and forward Gui Negão.
