Corinthians have confirmed the return of left-back Fabrizio Angileri on a deal until the end of this year. The club said the new contract is listed in the CBF’s Boletim Informativo Diário, so the Argentine is eligible to face Red Bull Bragantino on Thursday. His previous agreement expired on 31 December 2025.
Angileri arrived in Brazil on Sunday night. He visited Neo Química Arena and watched the side’s 1-0 defeat to Palmeiras in the seventh round of the Campeonato Paulista.
He first signed for Corinthians at the start of 2025 but did not renew at the end of the year.
Since then, the club and the player’s representatives held on-off talks over a renewal, with periods of distance and rapprochement. During this time, the defender waited for a resolution in his home country.
His return gained importance after fellow left-back Hugo, back-up to Matheus Bidu, sustained a lateral meniscus injury in his right knee that required surgery.
Discussions restarted in recent days and progressed to the agreement now in place.
