Corinthians are weighing candidates to replace Lucas Piccinato as women’s head coach after his dismissal in the early hours of Saturday, which followed a 2-2 draw with Fluminense at Neo Química Arena in the second round of the Campeonato Brasileiro. According to Meu Timao, at least three options are under review.
Lance! reports that Emilly Lima, currently without a club, and Felipe Freitas, who leads Bahia, are among those considered. Freitas recently renewed his contract through to the end of 2026.
Fut das Minas adds that Marcelo Frigerio, a Brazilian ex-player born in Italy, has also emerged and is a free agent after leaving Pumas in Mexico.
At Levante in Spain, where she worked until October 2025, Lima oversaw 11 matches, recording 10 defeats and one draw. She has managed clubs in Brazil and the national teams of Ecuador, Peru and Brazil.
Freitas has led Bahia since August 2024. He took the club to the Brasileirão Feminino knockouts for the first time and to the Copa do Brasil semi-finals. His Bahia record is 57 games, 41 wins, four draws and 12 defeats.
Frigerio, 55, took charge of Pumas for the Clausura 2024 and immediately reached the playoffs, then repeated that in two subsequent tournaments without advancing beyond the quarter-finals. He departed in November 2025 after 70 matches, posting 32 wins, 12 draws and 26 defeats.
