Lazio have made a concrete move for Corinthians striker Yuri Alberto, but the Brazilian club have made it clear that the proposal currently on the table falls short of their expectations.
Reports from Brazil were confirmed on Thursday by Corinthians sporting director Marcelo Paz, who addressed the situation during a press conference, with quotes via LaLazioSiamoNoi.

While acknowledging Lazio’s interest, Paz stressed that the offer does not reflect the value the club places on one of its key players.
“Yuri Alberto is a great player, an attacker with rare qualities,” Paz explained. “He has pace, movement, he scores goals, provides assists and gives everything for the full 90 minutes. He doesn’t get discouraged when he misses chances, and everyone misses, and that shows he has the right personality to play for Corinthians.”
The Corinthians director was clear that Lazio’s approach has been formal rather than speculative. “The offer has arrived, yes,” he confirmed, “but it is not yet an offer that satisfies Corinthians. The club expects a higher figure.”
Paz stopped short of revealing the exact numbers involved, making it clear that final authority rests elsewhere within the club. “The proposal is now in the hands of president Osmar. I’ve seen it, but I won’t disclose the figures because that’s the president’s prerogative,” he said. “What I can confirm is that the bid does not currently meet Corinthians’ needs, given the size of the player and the importance he has within our squad.”

For Lazio, Yuri Alberto represents a profile that fits Maurizio Sarri’s demands for a dynamic, mobile forward capable of leading the line while contributing in build-up play.
However, Corinthians’ stance suggests negotiations would require a significant improvement in financial terms.
With the January window still open, Lazio must now decide whether to raise their offer or explore alternative targets, as Corinthians show no intention of lowering their demands for one of their most influential attackers.
