Corinthians set plan for Yuri Alberto return after Italy trip

Corinthians expect Yuri Alberto to rejoin training on Friday after a trip to Italy for citizenship, though the striker remains a doubt for Sunday’s opener.
ge.globo reports the forward travelled last Friday under a previously agreed arrangement, followed a remote conditioning plan, and is due back in Brazil on Thursday night.
Corinthians host Ponte Preta at 16:00 on Sunday at Neo Química Arena in the Campeonato Paulista opener, and limited time with team-mates could keep him out.
At Saturday’s return, absentees included Talles Magno and Ángel Romero, whose deals ended in 2025, and Fabrizio Angileri and Maycon. Only Angileri remains in talks, with Maycon joining Atlético-MG, announced on Thursday.
Renato, Alex Santana and Héctor Hernández are training separately as the club seeks offers. José Martínez is in Venezuela resolving work visa issues and has no return date amid tensions with the United States.
Raniele and Memphis Depay are rehabbing indoors after playing through issues in last season’s Copa do Brasil finals.
Rodrigo Garro had left wrist scaphoid surgery announced on Wednesday and is due at the training ground on Friday to begin recovery.
André Carrillo missed Thursday with fever but is expected back on Friday for the penultimate session before the opener.
With a transfer ban still in place, right-back João Vitor Jacaré and midfielders Luiz Gustavo Bahia and Gui Amorim were recalled from the Copinha and could feature on Sunday.
