Corinthians duo shine in Brazil U20 women's friendly win over Mexico

On the afternoon of Sunday, October 26, the Brazil Women's U-20 National Team once again defeated Mexico in a friendly match held at the Estádio Olímpico Pedro Ludovico Teixeira, in Goiânia, winning by a score of 1-0. Two Corinthians athletes took part in the match: right-back Rafa Rocha and midfielder Gaby Tomé. The midfielder started the game as a starter.

Coach Camila Orlando lined up the following team to start the match: Faichel; Ana Bia, Bia Martins, and Sofia; Isabela, Gaby Tomé, Clarinha, Vitorinha, and Dudinha; Tainá Santos and Gisele. Tomé was actively involved in the goal that secured victory for the Canarinhas, as she made a tackle and opened play to the right side for Gisele.

She cut past the defender and delivered a pinpoint cross for Isabela Nunes to strike firmly and open the scoring in the friendly against the Mexicans. Right at the start of the second half, Gaby Tomé was substituted, and one of the players to come on was precisely right-back Rafa Rocha, who contributed both defensively and offensively.

The Brazil Women's U-20 National Team won both friendlies against Mexico – by scores of 3-0 and 1-0, respectively, as part of their preparation for the 2026 South American Championship (to be held from February 4 to 28) – which will grant a spot in the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup to be held in Poland.
