Corinthians were knocked out of the Copa do Brasil despite a 2-1 win over Internacional at Neo Química Arena, losing 3-2 on aggregate. According to Meu Timao, the campaign brought in R$ five million.
The side opened against Barra, from Santa Catarina, winning both games 1-0. Participation in the fifth phase paid R$ two million and the last-16 berth added R$ three million.
Had they advanced to the quarter-finals, they could have earned a further R$ four million. Last year’s triumph over Vasco da Gama saw CBF distribute a little over R$ 97 million, including R$ 77 million for the Maracanã victory.
Fernando Diniz’s team now have two competitions left this year. They face Rosario Central of Argentina in the Libertadores last 16 and still have 17 rounds to play in the second half of the Brasileirão.
Next up is Red Bull Bragantino away on Sunday in the Brasileirão’s 22nd round, kick-off 18:30 in Bragança Paulista.
