Corinthians’ Ethics and Discipline Committee has scheduled a hearing with former president Andrés Sanchez for Monday 16 March, to examine corporate card spending. According to Gazeta Esportiva, it will be held by videoconference because a São Paulo Public Ministry order bars him from Parque São Jorge.

The committee has no judicial powers, so attendance is voluntary, yet Sanchez is expected to take part after his defence requested the session to offer further clarifications.

In recent days the panel reviewed complete corporate card statements and flagged about 50 atypical expenses from 2018 to 2020, after receiving files from the Public Ministry, which lacked cooperation from the club’s current finance department.

The new material points to more than R$ 180,000 in expenses, and Sanchez’s defence has been asked to explain them and provide any reimbursement proof. He may also submit evidence or witnesses. After the evidentiary phase, his defence will have five days for a final submission before the committee drafts an opinion for the Deliberative Council.

The Justice Commission has already taken testimony, including from Sanchez, and its members say there is no proof the spending served the club or was required by the role, with no receipts attached. If he skips the new hearing, his earlier testimony may be used.

After completion, the ethics panel can propose penalties including expulsion, then council president Romeu Tuma Júnior would call a vote. Prosecutors allege Sanchez breached a no contact order in January 2026 and seek tighter measures, with a judge to decide.
